When working with student data:
Consulting and professional learning are delivered by a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registered teacher (Registration no. 615660).
In most engagements, schools retain ownership and primary control of their data. Learning Systems Studio acts as a specialist consultant, and where relevant as a data processor under the direction of the school or system. Systems are designed so that schools can export, retain, and manage their own data over time.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Wherever possible, systems are implemented within school‑controlled environments such as Microsoft 365 / SharePoint, school‑managed cloud infrastructure, or school‑hosted databases. The tools designed through this consultancy act as an application layer on top of these environments, with student information remaining inside school infrastructure.
Architectures are documented for schools, and are typically built around clear separation between application and data layers, secure connections (HTTPS), and role‑based access aligned with school policies.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected parties and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
